In all 129 Certified Public Accountant (CPA) warrants and Practising Certificates in Auditing (PCA) were presented by the Hon. Edward Scicluna, Minister for Finance during a ceremony held on Thursday 18th July 2013.
During a brief address ahead of the presentations, the Minister for Finance stressed the importance of good governance in the practice of the accounting profession and underlined how warrant holders should hold and maintain their professionalism, integrity and credibility.
“Credibility is invaluable in today’s professional world. It takes time and effort to acquire, but can be all too easily lost,” he stressed. “It is imperative that today’s professionals be capable, honest, and above all transparent in their work.”
Prof. Scicluna congratulated the 87 accountants and auditors who received their warrants or certificates for their achievement, and wished them well for all their future endeavours.
A total of 129 Certified Public Accountant (CPA) warrants and Practising Certificates in Auditing (PCA) were handed out during the ceremony. Forty accountants received the CPA warrant, 44 received both the CPA warrant and the Practising Certificate in Auditing, while a further 3 received the Practising Certificate in Auditing. The latter three accountants received their CPA warrant during one of the previous ceremonies as at that time they did not have the necessary work experience in auditing to qualify for the PCA.
Currently, the total number of Certified Public Accountant (CPA) warrant holders amounts to 1,864, while the total number of Practising Certificates in Auditing (PCA) holders stands at 1,060.

B’kollox ġew ippreżentati 129 liċenzja ta’ Accountants Pubbliċi Iċċertifikati (CPA) u Ċertifikati tal-Prattika fl-Awditjar (PCA) mi l-Onor. Edward Scicluna, il-Ministru għall-Finanzi waqt iċ-ċerimonja li seħħet il-Ħamis 18 ta’ Lulju 2013.
Waqt id-diskors qasir ta’ qabel il-preżentazzjonijiet, il-Ministru għall-Finanzi enfasizza fuq l-importanza ta’ governanza tajba fil-prattika tal-professjoni tal-kontabilità u sostna li dawk li ngħataw il-liċenzja għandhom iżommu mal-professjonaliżmu tagħhom, l-integrità u l-kredibilità.
“Il-kreddibiltà hija imprezzabbli fid-dinja professjonali tal-lum. Biex takwistaha trid iż-żmien, iżda bl-istess mod jista’ jkun faċli biex titlifha,” enfasizza l-Ministru. “Huwa importanti ħafna li llum il-professjonisti jkunu kapaċi, onesti, u fuq kollox trasparenti fil-ħidma tagħhom.”
Il-Prof. Scicluna awgura lil sebgħa u tmenin accountant u awditur li rċivew il-liċenzji jew iċ-ċertifikati għall-kisba tagħhom, u xtaqilhom kull ġid għall-ħiliet tagħhom fil-futur.
Total ta’ 129 liċenzja Accountants Pubbliċi Iċċertifikati (CPA) u Ċertifikati tal-Prattika fl-Awditjar (PCA) kienu mogħtija waqt iċ-ċerimonja. Bħalissa, in-numru totali ta’ Accountants Pubbliċi Iċċertifikati (CPA) bil-liċenzji jammontaw għal 1,864, filwaqt li n-numru totali ta’ detenturi taċ-Ċertifikati tal-Prattika fl-Awditjar (PCA) huwa 1,060.
