Minister for Finance inaugurates new refurbished and rebranded local company premises


Minister for Finance Prof. Edward Scicluna was the guest of honour during the launch of a new showroom of local company Rustica Ltd, following refurbishment and rebranding that represents an investment of half a million Euros.

Over the past year and a half, the company has invested over half a million Euros in refurbishing and rebranding. The company was encouraged to carry out this investment also thanks to the Jeremie scheme which is offered by Malta Enterprise.

During the inauguration, Finance Minister Prof. Edward Scicluna welcomed the company’s investment, saying that he is pleased with the success that the company achieved throughout the years. He went on to say that he recalls the beginning of the company’s entrepreneurship.

Prof. Scicluna also welcomed the enterprising spirit of the family behind the company, and said that it is on such small and medium-sized businesses that the Maltese economy is founded. He added that such investment not only goes towards generating greater economic growth, but also generates employment.
Prof. Scicluna went on to say that he was pleased to note that the company was able to invest thanks to assistance in the form of the Jeremie scheme, a scheme which the Government decided to support and extend as part of the 2014 Budget measures aimed at encouraging investment.

Minister Prof. Scicluna concluded his address by congratulating the company for the new product and augured success for the future. The company’s newly refurbished showroom was also blessed by Rev. Louis Farrugia.

Rustica Limited was founded in 1972 by Dr. Godfrey Sullivan and Anthony Bonello as a solid furniture manufacturing company. After eight years of business, the company was taken over solely by Anthony Bonello and his family. The family-owned and run company today exports furniture to various countries, including United Kingdom, Germany and Libya.
