“The success of the insurance industry today owes it to the visionaries who, way back 35 years ago, set up an insurance training centre (MITC) because they believed in the importance of proper training and development for the profession”. Minister Prof. Scicluna stated this when he was addressing the National Conference on Current Developments in the Insurance Industry organised by the Malta International Training Centre held on the 3rd June 2016 at the Westin Dragonara.

Prof. Scicluna added that the financial services sector continued to adopt high standards of legislation and regulation resulting in retaining its good reputation and attractiveness which in turn led to the continued expansion of the sector.
“The Government is committed to continue implementing fiscal and economic policies which will continue bringing about further business growth in the insurance sector” Minister Scicluna stated. He referred to the setting up of a working group tasked with submitting proposals on fiscal incentives and the procedures to be adopted for the introduction on a voluntary Pension Schemes at the place of work.
