A comprehensive and viable energy plan – TV HEMM – TVM – 08.01.2013

‘The Labour Party energy plan to switch from heavy fuel oil to gas will reduce the price of electricity production from 18 eurocents per unit to 9 eurocents per unit’. Labour MEP and candidate for the 5th and 8th districts Professor Edward Scicluna made this statement on Tuesday 8th January while taking part in a Television Malta discussion programm ‘TV HEMM’ presented by Norman Vella. Professor Scicluna said the Labour Party, if elected, will reduce the electricity bills by 25 per cent and the water bills by 5 per cent by March 2014. He stressed that this policy will also mean cleaner air and less health problems and that the plan is viable and can be achieved by the participation of the private public partnership and that there is interest from several companies. Minister Tonio Fenech and AD spokesman Ralph Cassar also took part in the discussion.

Pjan ta’ enerġija komprensiv u vijabbli

Bil-pjan ta’ enerġija li ppreżenta il-Partit Laburista biex jinqaleb mill-heavy fuel oil għall-gass, l-ispiża tal-produzzjoni ta’ kull unit ta’ elettriku se tonqos minn 18 il-ċenteżmu l-unit għal 9 ċenteżmi l-unit’. Dan qalu l-Ewroparlamentari Laburista u kandidat għall-5 u t-8 distrett il-Professur Edward Scicluna nhar it-Tlieta 8 ta’ Jannar waqt li kien qed jieħu sehem fil-programm ta’ diskussjoni fuq TVM ‘TV HEMM’ immexxi minn Norman Vella. Il-Prof Scicluna żied jgħid li b’hekk, b’effett minn Marzu tas-sena 2014 Gvern Laburista, jekk jingħata l-fiduċja mill-poplu, iraħħas il-kontijiet tad-dawl b’25 fil-mija u l-kontijiet tal-ilma b’5 fil-mija. Huwa spjega li bl-użu tal-gass minflok il-heavy fuel oil jonqos ħafna t-tniġġiż tal-arja u b’hekk jonqos il-mard ukoll. Il-Professur Scicluna sostna li dan hu proġett vijabbli permezz ta’ private-public partnership u li hemm kumpaniji li lesti jidħlu għal dan il-proġett. Fid-diskussjoni ħadu sehem ukoll il-Ministru Tonio Fenech u l-kelliem għall-Alternattiva Demokratika Ralph Cassar.
