We are succeeding in having a diversified access to finance

“We have been introducing a number of fiscal measures all aimed at attracting investors to use alternative financial institutions where to invest other than the traditional banking sector. Such diversification will not only increase the options of access to finance by the economic operators but will reduce the cost of finance”, said Minister Edward Scicluna when addressing the Annual Investor Education Conference organised by the Malta Stock Exchange.

The Minister explained that having more than 48 organisations listed on the Regulated Main Market and another 5 companies on the recently launched Prospects platform, indicate that the Maltese Capital Market is gaining momentum and providing an alternative source of finance.

Finance Minister Edward Scicluna concluded by congratulating the management and the staff at the Malta Stock Exchange for their sterling work to ensure that the Exchange continues to contribute to the country’s economic growth, while continuing with its corporate social responsibility drive through the organisation of such conferences, to continue educating investors.
