Edward Scicluna on ‘Iswed fuq l-Abjad’


 L-Ewroparlamentari laburista l-Professur Edward Scicluna qal li l-Ewroparlamentari nazzjonalista Simon Busuttil wera nuqqas ta’ maturita’ u responsabbilta’ meta kiteb u qal li gvern laburista ġdid iwassal lill Malta biex titlob bailout.

Il-Professur Scicluna għamel din il-kritika waqt li kien qed jieħu sehem flimkien ma’ Simon Busuttil fil-programm ‘Iswed fuq l-Abjad’ fuq Net Television nhar l-Erbgħa 31 ta’ Ottubru ippreżentat minn Stephen Calleja. F’dan il-programm il-Professur Scicluna wieġeb u ddiskuta ħafna mistoqsijiet u temi fosthom ir-riżenja ta’ John Dalli minn Kummissarju Ewropew, in-nominazzjoni ta’ Tonio Borg biex jieħu post John Dalli, l-ekonomija, id-dejn u d-defiċit. Il-Professur Scicluna ta assigurazzjoni li gvern laburista ġdid ineħħi l-ħela fl-infieq tal-gvern u li l-istipendji mhux biss iżommhom iżda isaħħahom fejn hemm bżonn. Huwa qal li wasal għad-deċiżjoni li jikkontesta l-elezzjoni ġenerali fuq talba tal-mexxej laburista Joseph Muscat.

Labour MEP Professor Edward Scicluna said that Nationalist MEP Simon Busuttil showed lack of maturity and responsability when he said that a new Labour Government would mean that Malta risks asking for a bailout.

Prof. Scicluna was invited together with Simon Busuttil on Net television discussion programm ‘Iswed fuq l-Abjad’ on Wednesday 31st October. Prof Scicluna fielded a number of questions which included the resignation of EU commissioner John Dalli, the nomination of Tonio Borg to replace Dalli, the economy, the debt and deficit problems, good governance and other issues. Answering one of the questions put to him by the programme presenter Stephen Calleja, Professor Scicluna gave the assurance that a Labour government will not only retain the stipends but will strenghten them for students in need. He also said that the new Labour government will certainly cut the huge wastage under the present Gonzi-led Nationalist Government.
