Laqgha ta’ Diskussjoni – EJJA U STAQSI – Il-Ġimgħa, 8 ta’ Ġunju – Cottage Gardens, Żurrieq


“If the government was bringing itself to believe that there are no problems, now the figures are giving a clear picture what the situation really is”, Labour MEP Professor Edward Scicluna stated while addressing another Public Meeting ‘Ejja u Staqsi’ in Żurrieq on the 9th June.

He spoke mainly on the effects of the recession in Malta. Professor Scicluna also answered a number of interesting questions put forward by the members of the audience including the environmental and noise pollution, the Greek crisis and its effect on Malta, the banking and financial situation, the selling of national assets, the country’s gold reserves, the national debt amongst others.

He also spoke about his work in the European Parliament.

 

‘Jekk il-gvern kien qed jemmen lilu nnifsu u jaħseb li ma kienx hawn problemi issa l-figuri tawh stampa ċara ta’ x’hemm u x’mhemmx verament’.

Dan qalu l-Membru Parlamentari Ewropew Laburista l-Professur Edward Scicluna meta tkellem dwar l-effetti tar-riċessjoni fuq Malta fl-aħħar laqgħa pubblika ‘Ejja u Staqsi’ li saret iż-Żurrieq nhar il-Ġimgħa 9 ta’ Ġunju.

Il-Prof Scicluna wieġeb numru ta’ mistoqsijiet interessanti fosthom dwar t-tniġġis ta’ l-arja u l-istorbju, il-kriżi tal-Greċja u l-effett tagħha fuq Malta, il-banek, il-bejgħ tal-assi nazzjonali u r-riżervi tad-deheb, id-dejn nazzjonali fost oħrajn.

Huwa tkellem ukoll dwar il-ħidma tiegħu fil-Parlament Ewropew.
