L-Ewroparlamentari Laburista u kandidat għall-5 u 8 distrett il-Professur Edward Scicluna beda l-jum tal-Ħadd 27 ta’ Jannar kmieni filgħodu bil-parteċipazzjoni tiegħu fuq il-programm ‘Folji’ fuq ONE li kien ippreżentat minn Silvio Debono.
Il-Professur Scicluna flimkien mal-mistiedna l-oħra analiżża l-ġurnali kollha tal-Ħadd. Fost l-istejjer prinċipali li huwa analizza kienet dik dwar l-allegat korruzzjoni fix-xiri taż-żejt mill-Korporazzjoni Enemalta. Il-Professur Scicluna qal li, ‘Il-kredibilita’ bdiet titmermer sew u diffiċli li ssostniha. Il-korruzzjoni żżomm lura l-iżvilupp u toħloq ineffiċjenzi’. Huwa qal li propju għalhekk li l-Partit Laburista jrid it-trasparenza u li jdaħħal il-‘Whistleblower’s Act’ kemm jista jkun malajr.
Matul il-programm ġew diskussi stejjer oħra fosthom dwar il-governanza politika, l-ekonomija, l-enerġija, il-proposta tal-Partit Laburista dwar ic-child care centres b’xejn u n-nisa fil-post tax-xogħol fost oħrajn.
Labour MEP and candidate for the 5th and 8th districts Professor Edward Scicluna had an early start to his busy day on Sunday 27th January with his participation on ONE programme ‘Folji’ presented by Silvio Debono.
Professor Edward Scicluna together with the other guests went through the articles on all the Sunday newspapers. The main story was the alleged corruption case in oil procurement by the Enemalta Corporation. Prof Scicluna said, ‘Credibility is now deteriorating fast and it is difficult to sustain it. Corruption hinders development and creates inefficiency.’ He added, ‘That is why the Labour Party wants transparancy and the Whistleblower’s Act to be enacted as soon as possible’.
Other issues that were analysed were those related to political governance, the economics, education, free child care and the participation of women in the labour market amongst others.
